How buying works

You pay into escrow, and the money is released only once you confirm you have received the domain in your account; nothing is paid to us directly. You ask, we reply within one working day, and once you have paid into escrow we start the process of moving the name.

The four steps

  1. Buy, or request the price. Press "Buy this name" on a name with a price, or "Request the price" on one without. Both open one short form: your name, your email and an optional note. There is no amount field, and nothing is charged by sending it.
  2. We reply with a payment link. Within one working day, Singapore time, we send a link to pay through an independent payment service that holds the money for you. For a name priced on request, the reply includes the price.
  3. You pay into escrow. The service holds your payment. We do not receive it until the name is in your account.
  4. We move the name, you confirm, the money is released. We start the transfer as soon as the service confirms your payment. Once the name is in your account and you confirm it, the payment is released to us.

Paying

You choose how to pay on the payment service's own page, and we never see your card or bank details.

Cards and PayPal are accepted by some payment routes and not others, with limits on the amount, so the options on your payment page may differ from one name to the next. Your bank may charge its own fee on a wire.

What it costs

The price on the name page is the price. We pay the escrow fee, and we take no commission. Your own registrar may charge its normal fee to receive a transfer, and you are responsible for any taxes in your country.

Getting the name

Most names reach you in one to three business days. It can take up to seven if the name has to move between registrars.

You will need an account at a registrar. If you do not have one, tell us in the form and we will explain the options. We can push the name straight into your registrar account, or send you the transfer code, whichever your registrar supports.

Some registrars hold a name for a short period after a change of owner. If yours does, we will tell you before you pay.

If something goes wrong

  • The transfer does not complete. The payment service returns your money.
  • The name has sold elsewhere. We list names in more than one place. If a name sells before your payment is taken, we will tell you at once and nothing is charged.
  • You have a question first. Use "Start a conversation" on any name page. It asks for your name, your email and your question, and commits you to nothing.

Common questions

Do I pay you directly? No. Payment goes to the payment service, never to us.

Can I negotiate? Not on this site. Prices are as shown, and names without a price are quoted on request.

What do I get? The domain name registration, moved into your own registrar account. Not a website, a logo or any content. See the Terms of sale.
